Zoom Flume Water Park has had some impressive advertising campaigns over the years–“Zoom Flume, you gotta go!” once ruled Upstate’s airwaves–and this year their marketing team brought home a Wave Review Award from the World Waterpark Association’s Annual Symposium & Trade Show.
General Manager Ed Kerrigan stated in a press release, “We are honored to be recognized among the best waterparks in the world for our marketing. I am proud of our team and being able to provide fun and exciting memories to families for more than three decades.”
Zoom Flume took home the award for their poster promoting the in-park Snapchat filter they added this year. Snapchat has quickly become one of the hottest social media apps on the market. It presents unique marketing opportunities through geofilters, ads, Snapchat Live takeovers and other channels within the app.
Special events have also become an important part of the park’s season. They’ve hosted meet and greets with Disney Channel stars, magic shows and more. Megan Kerrigan is the woman behind the park’s special events and spoke at the symposium’s WWA University. She shared tips and insights for planning and hosting successful special events with industry colleagues.
